Focusing on a Trendon Baby for a change.

This is a minty early 70s Trendon baby boy who because of his longer hair style can double up as a baby girl if required.

He/she is wearing a delightful little floral dress set (by eBay ID Maz?) that I won off eBay a couple of weeks ago.

I had seen a copy of this dress previously but had forgotten to place a bid at the time so was thrilled to see one come back up for sale again.

This is the closest coloured ribbon that I could find to tie around the hair.

Yet MORE thanks to Sarah for listing these photos. I need to get behind the camera again as I have basically run out of 'not seen before' photos stored in my pictures and I have again been sent some lovely Sasha sized gifts that certainly need to be set up, photograhed and listed asap. This week has been busy but next week looks particularly hectic with appointments as 'we' try to get myself sorted out. It's been a long hard year!

  2. Strange, was sure I'd left a comment earlier?

Just had another look at the last photo and I'm sure little boy is saying Geez Mum, can you take out of this dress now?! I promise to be good from now on ;-)

    Very pretty dress though.

  3. What big brown eyes you have... like swimming pools of chocolate!
Love these long fringe babes... they are so versatile... one day a boy and the next day a girl.
Nice fit on the dress... I love yellow... a cutie! Hugs, -Anne

My thoughts as well Serenata………I had to play “Alice” (“Alice in Wonderland”) [1][2] in a school play when I was 9 and was FORCED to wear a blue dress and Alice band!!!!!! I was grumpy for a full year after that experience :( :( :(

I keep wondering what degree of licence is permitted apropos the clothes worn by all these dolls. Specifically, are there Sasha purists who insist on the fashion – hair and clothes – being synchronised to the period when the doll was produced? I have spotted quite a few Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette (RIP) hairstyles in Kendal’s postings; conversely, Ross and Fritz strike me as potential Punks/New Romantics. I suspect they own records by The New York Dolls :)

I loved the Victorian doll that Kendal featured some time ago – and I seem to recall the doll wearing a corduroy dress. Sorry to sound like an intellectual derelict, but I didn’t know the Victorians wore corduroy dresses.

P.S. I keep wondering if a Sasha doll would be allowed to wear a Peasant skirt - probably a little too hippie……..and middle parting J It would, though, be a very nice to think of a Sasha owning a Laura Nyro record: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8kuo-TRZU8 )

  6. LOVE this outfit. LIke Lawrence I had to do a role reversal and be a police sergeant in a primary school play! I loved it tho! I just hope this little dear doesn't suffer from character assassination from his friends and relatives and has no lasting trauma! Lol. Tell him Aunty Sarah and Aunty Cleo will be up to see him soon with a present.
    xx

How interesting Sarah (sorry for late reply but work demands……continued p264). A policeman’s cap – assuming you had to wear one – is unisex, so not too upsetting for a child Also it must have been quite thrilling for a youngster to wear bus conductor type trousers……and arrest people (in the name of the law :)). A 9 year old hippie wearing a blue dress (with a girl’s belt), Alice Band and Gracie fields type head scarf is a humiliation too far :(:(:(

Can’t imagine what the title of your play actually was.

How about Kendal conjures up a scene where Fritz gets arrested? Kendal has tried every avenue to recoup the postage she had to shell out when Fritz embarked on his upper-class schmoozing southern Jollie. She’s written polite letters to Fritz – and even tried debt collectors – but with no success.

Another idea: I liked the hairdressing feature some months ago, why not feature Fritz undergoing further hairdressing training? This time, he’s being taught on the correct procedure for creating the perfect SOFT perm. However, he gets his chemicals mixed up and the poor girl who’s volunteered ends up with a FULL BLOWN perm ……and hair looking like a mass of coil springs. Kendal could illustrate her (girl with coil spring perm) chasing Fritz around the hair dressing salon (possibly with a hand-held hair dryer – as a threatening weapon)
