Another 'lesser-known-to-the-blog' Sasha

Unfortunately these photos don't do justice to this Frido 1967 Dungaree NP girl. She is a petite doll with a rather a sad and wistful expression.

Photobucket

She has chosen to wear this OOAK Ruthsdoll's smocked homespun outfit with a little bit of a history to it.

Photobucket

This little dress was worn by one of Ruth's own Sashas when they came to Dawn Law's first ever Sasha Funday. I fell in love with it immediately (along with a dear little smocked green/white gingham dress that another of her dolls had on and which my Gotz slate-eyed Sally loves to wear) and asked if I could buy them. You can see the answer!!!!

Photobucket

They originally came as an outfit with Ruth's trademark in those days of making 'matching material to the dress' Mary-Jane shoes and her plain white socks and which I still have.

Apologies as usual for all the flyaway hairs across the face and the loss/deleting of photo one photo along the way.
Loads of thanks again to Sarah.

Two more outfits chosen by the dolls themselves to wear.

This is my Frido 1967 Jeans NP with her full centre part and dramatic and unique eye painting by Kristina, a Manchester art student, who came to help Sara Doggart with the eye painting during the 1967 Summer holidays. This doll was featured in the book, 'For the Love of Sasha' published last year.

Photobucket

Now normally I would have put this dress on a brunette haired doll to bring out the little black motifs in the material BUT I have to say that I am impressed with blonde haired Krista's (named after her eye artist) choice here.

Photobucket

Another view of her unique eye painting.

Photobucket

I love the style of this Pinestreetstudio simple little dress which Cindy Patrick has used on many occassions in a wide variety of different materials as it really suits the Sasha girls. This dress came with a beige jacket and beige/brown stripped scarf for those more dressy occasions or cooler climbs. Here it is teamed it up with commercially made shoes and short cream socks but looks just as good with long black three-quarter length socks.

Photobucket

Next up on today's menu is a Gotz slate eyed mid 1960s pale skinned doll with her hair re-rooted with mohair by Bettina.

Photobucket

The outfit that she has chosen to wear is a Limited Edition by Ruthsdolls but shown here with commercially made socks and JJ sandals instead of the original socks and laced shoes.

Photobucket

This girl knows that she looks good in this shade of pink as it brings out her lip colouring and goes well with her brunette hair.

Photobucket

I always think that this doll has rather a film star quality look about her.

Millions of thanks again Sarah.

Two NGould outfits

Have again been letting my girls choose which outfit that they would like to wear because they have complained that when I dress them I tend to put the same outfit on them as in previous years.... (guessing knowing 'which suits who' saves me 'trying-on' time if I find that it doesn't flatter them as I had thought.

Here we have my Frido 1967 NP waif with the bobbed hair who has chosen a spotted red smock-type top (ususlly worn by Gotz crude yellow eyed waif, Holly with her short red hair) over jeans (maker unknown) and JJ sandals.

Photobucket

I remember when I first spotted this doll for sale on Shelly's website and she looked just like she had come out of a fashionable hair salon. I knew then that she was 'a Kendal-must-have-if-possible' doll as I love 'different or unusual dolls and there wasn't the re-rooter people in those days.

Photobucket

Even though given the choice of all the outfits I see that Sally, my 1960s Gotz slate eyed girl has decided to go for the 'linen look alike' smock and jeans by NGould with the ever popular for Summer JJ sandals that I have chosen for her in previous years. Must be doing something right for a few of them then!

I recall just missing out on winning this outfit from eBay and was upset at the time BUT luckily a year or so later this new copy appeared for sale so I was able to buy one after all.

Photobucket

I love the little bead togs and embroidered band detail here and the cream colour really suits the red headed girls.

A great bundle ot thanks, Sarah for your continuing wonderful support here.
